Sally and Robin were twins.
One day they were playing.
" You cant catch me!"
called Robin.
"Oh yes can,"
said Sally,"
and Imcoming to get you!"
双胞胎莎莉和罗宾在奔跑
罗宾说，
“莎莉，你追不到我的。”
莎莉说，
“我一定可以的。”
Robin ran off as fast as
he could buthe
was running so fast
he didnt lookwhere he was going.
He didnt see old
Mrs Brown walking up the path.
罗宾跑的太快了，
没有看到正在散步的布朗太太。
Then Robin looked up
and sawMrs Brown
but he just couldnt stop.
He ran into her
and pushed her intothe fence.
当罗宾回头看到布朗太太，
因为跑的太快停不下来，
把她撞到了栅栏上。
Mrs Brown was very cross.
"What do you think youre doing?"
she said to Robin.
"You could havehurt me."
"Im sorry,"said Robin.
"We wereonly playing
and I didnt see you."
布朗太太很生气，
她对罗宾说，
“你知道你在做什么吗，你可能让我受伤了。”
罗宾说，
“对不起，我们正在玩，没有看到您。”
"Why dont you look
where youregoing?"
said Mrs Brown,
and she went into
her house and shut the door.
"I dont think
Mrs Brown likes us now,"
said Sally to Robin.
"Lets go home."
“怎么不看看你是往哪里跑呢?”
布朗太太说完便回到自己的房子,
并关上了大门。
“我觉得布朗太太不会再喜欢我们了。”
莎莉对罗宾说,“我们回家吧!”
Sally and Robin went home.
"Mrs Brown was cross
because I raninto her,"
Robin said to their mum.
"But we were only playing."
双胞胎回家告诉妈妈，
“布朗太太很生气，可我们只是在玩而已。”
"Yes, but dont forget
Mrs Brown is old
and cant walk very fast,"
said Mum."
Why dont you go over
and say sorryto her again?"
妈妈说，
“你们别忘了布朗太太已经很大年纪了，
也不能走太快，你们为什么不去道歉呢？”
Robin and Sally
went out to play.
They were thinking
about what Mumhad said.
"Lets go and see Mrs Brown,"
said Robin.
"We could help her somehow,"
said Sally.
双胞胎继续出去玩，
想起妈妈说的话，
罗宾说，
“我们去看看布朗太太吧。”
莎莉说，
“我们可以去给她帮忙。”
Robin and Sally
went to Mrs Browns house
but Mrs Brown didnt
come to the door.
"Mrs Brown must have gone out,"
said Sally.
"Lets go and play."
"But she must be here,"
Robin said.
"She has only just come home."
双胞胎去敲门，
但是很久没人开门，
莎莉说，
“布朗太太一定出去了，我们去玩吧。”
罗宾说，
“她可能在家里。”
Robin looked in the window.
He saw Mrs Brown
on the rug by the TV.
"Get some help please, Robin,"
called Mrs Brown.
"I fell over the rug
and Ive hurt my leg.
I cant get up."
"Well go and get our mum,"
Robincalled back.
罗宾朝窗户里面望去,
他看见布朗太太
倒在电视机旁的地毯上。
“罗宾,帮帮我!”布朗太太喊道,
“我在地毯上摔倒了,
摔坏了腿,我起不来了。”
“我们这就回去,叫妈妈过来。"
罗宾回答道。
Robin and Sally ran home.
"Mum!" Robin called,
"Mrs Brown fellover
and shes hurt her leg."
"Oh no!"said Mum.
Ill call for help.
罗宾和莎莉跑回家去。
“妈妈!"罗宾喊道,
“布朗太太跌倒了,她摔坏了腿。"
“哦,天啊!"妈妈说,
“我去打求救电话。”
First a policewoman
came and opened
Mrs Browns door
and then an ambulance took
Mrs Brown to hospital.
The policewoman
thanked Sally and Robin.
"If you hadnt come to
see Mrs Brown
she could have been
on the floor all night."
一会儿,来了一个警察阿姨。
她撬开了布朗太家的门,
后来来一辆救护车
将布朗太太送进了医院。
警察阿姨对莎莉和罗宾表示感谢。
“如果不是你们来看布朗太太,
她很可能要在地上躺一晚上了。”
The next day
Mum took Robin
and Sally tothe hospital
to see Mrs Brown,
"How is your leg?"
Mum asked her."
Its not hurting so much now,"
said Mrs Brown.
"Thats good,"said Mum.
"Mrs Brown,
Im sorry ran into you,"
said Robin.
"Lets forget all about that,"
said Mrs Brown.
"Please will you come
and seeme again
before go home?"
"Yes, we will,"
said Robin and Sally.
第二天,
妈妈带着
罗宾和莎莉去医院看望布朗太太。
“您的腿怎么样了?”妈妈问她。
“现在已经不那么疼了。”
布朗太太说。
“那就好!”妈妈说。
“对不起，布朗太太,我撞到您了!”
罗宾说。
“让我们忘了那一切吧!"
布朗太太说,
“我出院回家前，
你们还会来看我吗?”
“当然,我们会的。"
Then Mrs Brown
gave them a big chocolate bar.
"This is to say
thank you for helping me,"
she said.
"Thank you very much!"
said Robin and Sally.
They were very pleased
that they were friends
with Mrs Brown again.
于是,布朗太太
给了他们一根大大的巧克力棒。
“这是为了感谢你们帮助了我。"她说。
“非常感谢您!"
罗宾和莎莉说。
他们非常高兴,
因为他们和布朗太太又成了朋友。
