大山异动 A mountain was once greatly agitated（焦虑，鼓动）. Loud groans1 and noises were heard, and crowds of people camefrom all parts to see what was the matter. While they wereassembled in anxious expectation of some terrible calamity2, outcame a mouse. He cried to his fellow fishes. "Thecity gate is burning!" So all the fishes except the carps started to swim away. Onearrogant2 carp even laughed at the other fishes. "Dont laugh,"said the kind black carp. "You really ought to swim away, too, ingood time." "Why should I?" asked the arrogant carp. "Its only their citygate on fire, whats it got to do with me in the water?" The firespread very fast and the firemen had used up all the water in thecity. But it was still burning. So they fetched waster from themoat. At long last, the fire was put out, but the moat had also gonedry, leaving a few sorry carps in their dying3 struggle.
